• Use clean hand under layer to break adhesive(sticky parts).
• Remove layer.
• Pat dry with clean paper towel.
If you need to put a NEW LAYER
1. Prep the Area
-
Wash your hands: Thoroughly clean your hands with antibacterial soap.
-
Clean the skin: Wash the area gently with lukewarm water and fragrance-free, antibacterial soap (e.g., Dial Gold).
-
Dry completely: Pat the skin dry with a clean paper towel. Wait a few minutes to air dry completely. Any moisture or residual ointment will ruin the adhesive and cause leaks.
-
Trim hair: If the area is hairy, trim or shave it first for a stronger hold and pain-free removal.
2. Prepare the Film
-
Cut to size: Measure the area and cut a piece of the second skin so that it extends at least 1 to 2 inches past the edges of the tattoo (or wound).
-
Round the corners: Use scissors to round off the sharp corners. This prevents the edges from catching on clothing and peeling prematurely.
3. Apply the Film
-
Peel the backing: Peel off the main split backing (often the side marked with text) to expose the sticky side.
-
Smooth it down: Position the adhesive side over the area. Press it down gently and smooth it out from the center to the edges to push out any air bubbles.
-
Remove the top layer: Peel off the supportive top layer (usually a clear or paper backing with a "wave" design) by pulling it back slowly and smoothly against the skin.
-
Seal the edges: Press down on all the outer edges to ensure a tight, air-tight seal.

Dry out. and keeo dry for the remainder of the healing time( estimate 2 weeks)
Yes, It will look ugly but the drying out process is so that the moisture doesn't allow the infection to travel to the rest of your tattoo. Note: the smaller the infected area the faster and easier heal.
After tattoo is healed then reach out to artist to access touch ups, such as, Brighting, Contrasting and smooting.
